It would be interesting to see rendered views of your models. I wouldn't say that lofting is pointless, you just have to play around with the lines a little more to get an object that's more three-dimensional. The form you have is interesting in that it is comparable to a ribbon, flowing in the breeze.
As for your CMYK issue, it's not that blogs dislike CMYK. You have to keep in mind the CMYK, or four color process, is meant to be used for printing, while RGB is meant for deciding screen colors. You should use RGB for images you will be posting to your blog.
